The Scoop: It’s a Midwestern thing... with a spicy Southwestern twist. And maybe some UFC action on the side. The simplicity of “Meat and potatoes” sits well with some feisty New Mexican flavor - and that's exactly what you'll find happening at Cheyenne Grill.

They’ve been in Buckhead for 15 years now, but just recently (October ’09) had a makeover with new owners, new management, a new kitchen and service staff, and a brand spankin' new menu.

So what’s worth a try on that new menu? According to owners Fred and Michael, you gotta try their Giant (as in, one pound each) Fish Tacos. They also make some pretty mean Fajitas with your choice of lobster, steak, or hearty-man brisket. It's bar food with a Southwestern twist; good ol’ calamari and mozzerella sticks meets spicy jalapeno and aioli. And the prices, it should be mentioned, are very fair: $5 half-pound burgers (or two burgers and a pitcher of beer for $15).

Beyond the menu and everyday drink specials, you’ve got all the basketball, football, pro and college followings you’d ever care to watch. Cheyenne Grill also hosts quite a crowd for UFC fight nights (which, if you don’t already have marked on your calendar, is going down February 20th). There’ll be plenty of buzz for that one... but possibly even more Cheyenne buzz will happen around The Bangkok Boxing match-ups on February 27th -- the Grill’s own bartender will be fighting that night at CenterStage and regulars here will surely be rooting her on for the win. (Yes, you read that right - SHE is pretty much the most bad-ass bartender you’ll ever have pouring your beer.)

Whether you’re in it for Fight Night, for one of the many alumni clubs that call this spot their headquarters, or if you’re just the kind of guy who likes his meat and potatoes (and beer) with some spicy Southwestern flare, Cheyenne Grill should definitely be your home away from home... on the range.
