50% Off Radial Cafe
The Scoop: Award-winning, eco-friendly breakfast and lunch joint serving up “inspired diner food” in Candler Park. It’s their modern take of greasy spoon classics. Radial continuously claims “Best Breakfast and Brunch” titles from many Atlanta publications, not to mention from plenty of pleased vegans and vegetarians with animal-friendly options. And with 50% off from Scoutmob, your breakfast is not only earth-friendly, but wallet-friendly too.
Field Notes: Green is the new black when it comes to buzzwords. You hear it so often, you may wonder what being considered “green” really even requires. So they recycle? Nice. Prefer not to use plastic wares? How considerate.
Then you meet Phil at Radial, who’s taken ‘green’ to a whole new level. They’ve been a member of the Green Restaurant Association -- and are the only restaurant in Georgia with that distinction. They’re also a member of the Green Chamber of the South and of Greenplate. Their recycling and composting efforts have made a serious impact on the dwindling amount of trash that actually heads to a landfill and they’re well on their way to becoming a zero waste facility. Organic, shade-grown coffee straight from sustainable and ethical family farms in Nicaragua. Teas and cocoa from organic and fair trade co-ops. Fresh organic eggs. Arden’s Garden juices. Is there any eco-friendly consideration they haven’t covered?
Phil Palmer opened Radial in spring of ‘99 with a love for food and a desire to be more than just another restaurant. “We’ve always done what we can to positively impact our neighborhood and the Atlanta non-profit community through donations, fundraisers and discounted catering... we also support local and regional artists, changing out the art here each month,” Phil says. Look at it this way: you take advantage of 50% off your brunch eats at Radial; by eating here, you support the community and you support the “green” movement. Next thing you know, you’re recycling. You start your own compost. You buy a Prius and quote Al Gore. You install rain barrels and solar panels in your condo. Before you know it, you’re saving the world. And to think all this started with a sweet deal on Gravy Biscuits.
